MORNI HILLS

Situated in the lower reaches of the Shivalik range, Morni is ideal for a holiday with its cool clime, beautiful natural vistas and myriad opportunities for many adventure sports.This hill station situated on the outskirts of Panchkula in Haryana close to Chandigarh. It isa popular picnic destination for locals and tourists alike. The hills are 1,220 metres in height and have some really stunning views to offer. In addition to being a grand vista point, Morni Hills is also an important archaeological site where carvings dating back to 7th Century have been found. It is also a great place to engage in trekking, birdwatching, and provides some of the most beautiful trails for cycling.

1. Tikkar taal- Myth, mystery and history also have a place in Morni's attractions. There are two large lakes or tals, which seem to be interconnected mysteriously even though they are separated by a hillock, the water level in both the tals always remains the same. Locals consider the lake auspicious and gather here on ceremonial occasions.


2. Thapli- this nature camp is situated near the border of the morni hills. The camp overlooks the floodplains of Ghaggar River and the forested Pinjor dun and Himachal hills to the north.The route to this camp has an excellent trail, surrounded by lush green hills, and it has an first-rate picnic spot.


3. Adventure park- To boost the tourism in Morni Hills, the Government of Harayana has also established an adventure park here. It offers a vast array of options to all the adrenaline junkies. Zipline, Burma bridge and climbing nets are present here. This adventure park is apt for people who want to experience adventure while staying in the safe zone. In fact, small swings are available for kids, and a small cafeteria has been set up for satisfying your hunger. The entry fees is affordable, and you can have a good time here.


4. thakurdwara temple- Morni Hills can be a perfect getaway for all the religious people, as it’s an abode to a beautiful temple called Thakurdwara Temple. The sacredness of the temple engulfs the misty hill station, and turns the place chaste. It attracts ample of devotees on a regular basis. Ancient stone sculptures are present here, and it’s believed that this temple dates back to the time of Pandavas.
